IN LOVING MEMORY - DAD / GRANDPA (3/22/07)

GOD'S GARDEN
God looked around his garden,And found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, And lifted you to rest;
God's garden must be beautiful-He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain;He knew you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough And hills were hard to climb
So he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered,"Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn't go alone, For a part of us went with you,The day God called you home.

REFLECTIONS

After we got home from Taiwan and Alexis got familiar with her new surroundings, we were able to spend some quality time with family. In Dad’s case he had to wait about 2 weeks (had to be off blood thinner for that time) before he could undergo the surgery. I now see that as a blessing in disguise. We were able to take Alexis over just about every other day and spend time with her grandpa. She really took to him, and she loved to sit on his lap and babble “stories” to him, and she loved to grab his shiny watch. During that time we took many, many pictures which I will cherish.
Dad’s recovery after surgery was like a bad roller coaster ride, really good days, then really bad. He fought really hard for 7 long weeks in critical care, but it was just too much.
I am so grateful Dad was able to meet his Granddaughter and that he was able to see his daughter’s long journey to Motherhood finally come to fruition. I am so grateful for the time that we had and for the great memories. The memories will be shared and he will be missed. Hopefully time will ease the sorrow and great sense of loss.
Thank you for all the love, support, thoughts and prayers.
