1st Birthday!!!

I can't believe our little baby girl is ONE!!! Time is just flying by, and that saying "they sure don't stay little long" is an understatement!! We had a small celebration at home with the two Grandmas. A relative of mine (not by blood but by love) like a Grandma to me, shares the same birthday as Alexis... she turned 97 & Alexis 1. We picked her up and we celebrated her birthday too! My niece was down for an interview so she joined the celebration. Alexis is not big on sweets which was very evident when her Daddy fed her a bite of cake with frosting. She didn't like it at all and opted to play in the cake instead of eating it :-) With each and everyday that passes we love her more and more . . . she fits our family just perfect, we couldn't have made a more perfect little girl!!!! We are truly blessed.

WALKING ON MY OWN

The first of many firsts!! Alexis decided to skip the crawling stage and just get up and go! At 11 months she is on the move . . . walking unassisted!! The excitement she exudes is just so contagious, kind of like those belly laughs. The wonderful rewards of being parents :-) Since she is now mobile, getting her to sit is tough, not to even mention laying down!!!!!! I can tell the next couple of months are going to wreak havoc on our nerves with the many bumps, bruises and falling down. We we forwarned to expect many. An outfit made from bubblewrap with helmet is sounding better all the time!!!!!!!!!!

ANOTHER FIRST

It used to be the one holiday that I really didn't look forward to. Not because of my Mom, whom I love dearly and wanted to celebrate, but it would bring up all those sad feelings, like rubbing salt in a wound, that I was not a Mom. My first Mother's Day was just FANTASTIC!!! My husband cooked a lovely meal for our Mom's and me, and did all the clean-up, and we just relaxed by the pool as a family.

This Mother's Day was nothing but smiles! As they say; a picture is worth a thousand words!!

Speaking of words, I look forward to the day she calls me Mommy :-)

THE PRINCESS - 10 MONTHS OLD

Our Christmas angel has captured our hearts and souls, she makes each and everyday seem special! It is still hard to believe that our daughter has only been with us for 4 months. She is everything we ever dreamed of and so much more . . . she is amazing!!!!!!! We can't imagine our lives without her. She is such a blessing!

EASTER

Easter was kind of bittersweet. It was exciting to share another "first" with our daughter, yet it was also the "first" holiday without my Dad/her Grandpa. Next year will be better, she will be at a good age to participate in all the church activities like the Easter egg hunt and the parade. We had a nice quiet, laid back day and had a nice dinner with Alexis' Nana and Grandma. She got a big bunny and a cute little duck which happened to match her adorable duck outfit:-)
